Tasting- Washington Hills’ 2020 Dry Riesling

Name: Washington Hills’ 2020 Dry Riesling

Variety: Riesling

Region: Washington Hills, Washington State

Country: US

Year: 2020

Price: $8

My friend purchased this wine at Kroger and was excited to try a dry riesling. According to  Winemag.com this wine contains lime, lemon, herb and green flower flavors. While I definitely tasted the lime and lemons with a touch of herbs I didn’t quite get the green flowers, maybe because that isn't a flavor I am used to. Winemag.com also stated that this wine is a tad dry with a fuller feel and plentiful acidity tying it all together.

.

I personally enjoyed this wine. This wine was very aromatic with citrus and honey scents. Upon tasting the green apple, lime and herb flavors were balanced with the dryness of the wine, so it was not too overpowering.  According to Wine Folly page 158 rieslings also contain jasmine and petroleum flavors, which I did not taste in this wine. I personally enjoyed the acidity in the wine, as it gave the wine a fuller body feel. I also really enjoyed the subtle sweet flavors of pineapple in the wine.

I did not try this wine with food.
